Our Story

My journey started in the UAE, where I was born and raised, and eventually led me to Bangalore, where I met my husband. Together, we’ve built a life filled with love, laughter, and the beautiful chaos of raising two kids and three dogs in Melbourne.

When I think back to my childhood, my fondest memories are from the school holidays spent at my grandmother’s ancestral home in Mangalore. Life was simpler then; family meals were a shared experience, made from ingredients we gathered right from our backyard. Rice from the paddy fields, fresh herbs, and spices from the garden. Everything came together in a way that made cooking feel like more than just a task. The aroma of food cooking over large open fire stoves, fuelled by coconut husks and dried wood, is a memory that stays with me. Those moments spent cooking alongside my grandmother, mother, aunts, siblings, and cousins are deeply treasured.

As I raise my own children today, I find myself longing to keep some of these traditions alive, even in the midst of our busy lives. That’s what led me to create Okhli. I wanted to introduce my family to the joy of organic eating, the benefits of supporting local farmers, and the health advantages of cooking with traditional cookware.

Okhli isn’t just a brand - it’s a way of life. It’s about celebrating the nostalgia of simpler times and making conscious choices that benefit our health and the environment. These natural pots help retain the nutrients in our meals and enhance their flavours. Plus, they’re free from harmful chemicals found in modern cookware, making them a safer choice for my family.
